Does true still exist? Many people now demand true love, but when they thought they have found it at last, they just end up a terribly bad couple. Is true love now elusive? What really is true love then? Is it just a sensation caused by the release of serotonin and dopamine? How can we find one? The 3-day (Nov. 2-4) 2012 District Convention of Jehovah's Witnesses answered these questions.

| This year's theme: " Safeguard Your Heart" in Tagalog |
God inspired King Solomon to write that the heart must be guarded more than anything else since it is the source of life. (Prov. 4:23) Indeed, our literal heart provides us life. We must take good care of it including daily exercise, healthy diet and emotions, etc. Similarly, our spiritual heart should be guarded since it is the source of our spiritual heart. Why? Because God sees us in our heart. (1 Samuel 16:7) And our actions reflects the identity of our figurative heart, for it is written: "Out of the abundance of the mouth, the heart speaks." (Matthew 12:34)
It is the love of Jehovah that caused him to send his son in order that we may be saved. It is love that caused the apostles to follow Jesus. It is love that today, faithful servants of God seek those who are meek. Love is the greatest in the universe. It is the first mentioned in the fruits of the spirit. (Galatians 5:22,23) But why is love today taken for granted? People hastily decides to marry someone they "love" and regrets it in the end. For one thing, they did not find true love. True love should not be deceived by strong desires: the desire of the flesh. (Gal 5:17)
Today's morally diminished society that engages adolescent sexuality, carefree drunkenness, drug abuse suggest that it is really hard to fit in! But is fitting-in the solution? True love is patient and kind. We need to wait for the right person. Do not hastily choose a person whom to love. Be practical. Think of the future. Is this person mature not only mentally but also spiritually? Will this person help me to serve God when we grow up? Remember that we should bring God first in everything. For everything we do, do it in the glory of God. (1 Cor. 10:31) If the person you love responds positively, then you have found true love and expect your relationship to blossom.
